Yes. This topic caught my eye for very long le. Is laughter a form of superiority? Often in anime, those god-like characters, usually the main characters, have a smile over their faces in battles. For example, from Bleach, Ichigo's Hollow Form, my favourite also. Nani Monoda?! HA!, and the obviously sadistic guy, Zaraki Kenpachi!, and another two gays, Aizen And Ichimaru who are obviously freaking strong. Then we have from Shaman King, Asakura Yoh And Hao. Both also keep smiling whenever in battle. From Hellsing, Alucard. And my past favourite, Luffy from One Piece. There will still be more. But Im too lazy to go quote. So now even if you dont agree, i think there is a possibility.
But in real life, amongst those around you, do you see such people? Always smile and laugh, as if no worries? I haven seen one yet. And if you do, please tell me.
Another possibility for the smile would be a disguise to their fear and also to make the opponent fear them. Imagine while you carry a gun while someone else if weaponless. And he stands around 20m from you. The two of you are going to kill each other. Of course, rationally, you would have the upper hand. But the other person just keeps smiling, as if he has some secret weapon. Wont you be afraid?
And also, laughter is another form of confidence. Showing other people your high self-esteem. To be continued...
